Matthew Riggins, 1998 Graduate

Matthew Riggins attended West Shore Christian Academy in kindergarten and 1st grade, then was homeschooled for three years before returning to WSCA in 5th grade where he remained through his graduation in 1998. Matt currently serves with Global Partners in Peace and Development, a non-profit organization that works with the broken, poor, abused, neglected and needy-using humanitarian projects to help restore physical lives, with the end purpose to introduce them to Jesus. He works with national partners on the ground in India, Jordan, Slovakia, Nepal, and Haiti. They advocate both here and abroad for those that are suffering through national disaster and crisis situations. Currently their focus is on the refugee crisis in the Middle East and their development work in India, as well as organizing, coordinating, and leading multiple short-term trips per year. They help supply for the needs for nearly 500 children in India through monthly sponsors, and in the last five years have installed 63 clean water wells. Matt has recently traveled abroad to India visiting childrens homes and dedicating clean water wells. Matt devotes his life to following Christ and helping others, both in his church and abroad. In June of 2008, Matt married his lovely wife Victoria. They have been blessed with three beautiful children, Naomi, Josiah, and Elias. Matt's family attends New Life Church, where his father has been a pastor for almost 40 years. When he is not traveling, Matt is involved in New Life's Worship Ministry.

Quote from Matt: “I am so thankful for all I learned and the relationships that I built while attending Bible Baptist (West Shore Christian Academy).”
